This is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm a visual learner and do better by following along rather than reading a manual. Purchased.

Although I respect this video, there are now instruments that begin with very high end samples, but also include isolated samples of every component of the desired sound. If we use a piano as an example, these components could include "damper noise", string resonance, duplex scale resonance, soundboard and bridge resonance and even how high the lid is lifted on a grand piano. Algorithms are used to introduce minute changes of which components, and how much of each of those components to include in the final performance. These are my my personal favorite final sounds.

I grew up when the transition from 4trk to 8trk happened, and my first stereo system was based around a car stereo that played both, powered by a 12V power supply I bought from radio shack! I found out why 4 trk tapes sounded better than 8 trk, when i discovered what dynamic range and tape width mean. When cassettes arrived, I went nuts and remember the first cassette car stereos SUCKED, so in order to compensate for freq loss because of tape speed reduction, the electronics had to be improved, then cassettes took off.

Anyone figured out if there is a way to search through samples or rename collections? Push 3 is almost unusable as a standalone device for impromptu creative sessions because of the endless sample browsing.

Great video! However I have an issue of loading samples with standard instruments and half the time the audio wave format within serato sample comes out thin and gray. I’m wondering why I don’t always get the colorful and thick wave formats?

What software do i need to connect the circuit. I can't get ableton to see my circuit.

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out in the 8 years since this was posted, but the image you use when describing the concert flute is actually the alto flute. Then you use the same image again for the alto flute. And for those people who don't know, look up the contrabass flute as well!!

Is it possible that ( if ) I don’t hear the panning left and right as you explained that my interface is not reacting properly or that maybe my speakers aren’t properly connecting left and right Sir??? I have my DAW Presonus 6.5 Professional going into my Interface 2-line/mic in inputs and I have 4 speakers 2-mid/highs on top LEFT INPUT of interface and 2-medium low end speakers connected on the LEFT SIDE AND MY PANNING STILL COMES OUT IN THE MIDDLE. What am I doing wrong Sir??? I’m a 50 yr old man changing over from table-top recording units to DAW recording any help would be appreciated Sir!.

This is exactly the kind of software that makes a mockery of playing and making music. No need to practice, no need to study. Just tweak a few knobs until you hear what you like. The software epitomised all that is wrong with making music today with computer software.

it seems like a lot of engineers in the 60s panned funny you had limited resources and I suppose not as many adapters existed that could somewhat pan more realistic like a band being on stage when the drums are fairly centered usually at most three guitars one being center bass obviously center and two keyboardists

Ohhh, the MIDI notes need to overlap! It's heading in the right direction. Are there any bass VST or Kontakt libraries that can achieve better slides than the Rickenbacker bass?
